Refund policy
Read the deadlines, recoverable costs and exclusions below if you need to change or cancel your trip.
60-day flexibility guarantee
Request one date change or cancel at least 60 days before departure without a Guided Bhutan Tours administration fee. Date changes are subject to availability and any price difference. Cancellation refunds cover all recoverable payments, with the documented exclusions below.
Cancellation windows
We calculate the deadline from the booked Bhutan arrival date. Requests made on the 60-day deadline still qualify. After that, supplier commitments limit what can be returned:
Cancel and receive all recoverable payments. Non-refundable government, banking, payment-processing, and supplier charges already incurred are deducted.
50% of the trip price or all recoverable payments, whichever is lower.
We still return any government or supplier amounts we recover, less applicable charges.

Date changes
The included change covers one move to new travel dates requested at least 60 days before departure. The new dates must be available, and any increase or decrease in the trip price is applied. Further changes and changes requested closer to departure may incur supplier costs.

Government fees & permits
Bhutan's Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) is refundable for a cancelled or shortened trip, less applicable bank charges. The US$40 visa application fee is non-refundable once submitted. We pass back government amounts actually recovered. See the official SDF refund guidance and visa guidance.
If we have to cancel
If we cannot deliver the confirmed itinerary due to operational constraints, safety, or regulatory changes, we'll offer a comparable alternative or a full refund of payments made to us. Force majeure exclusions apply.
Force majeure
No refunds are guaranteed for events beyond our control (e.g. natural disasters, political unrest, government restrictions, pandemics, airline disruptions). We'll make best efforts to recover costs and pass through any recoverable amounts.
Refund processing
Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method. Banks may take 7–10 business days to display the funds.
Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory and should cover cancellation, medical, evacuation, and trip interruption.
